“If We Have Not Love” – 1 Corinthians 13
Normally we hear the words of 1 Corinthians 13 at a wedding ceremony. But Paul didn’t write those words for a wedding or even for a couple. Paul is writing to the Church at Corinth. He is writing to the body of believers and giving them direction on how to be the Church of Jesus Christ. They had been arguing about who was the greatest preacher or teacher and making claims on whose was the best. They were arguing about the gifts of the Spirit and which ones were superior. They were reflecting the values of their culture more than Christ. And so, Paul tells them to put on the gift of Love above all things. But what does it mean to love LGBTQ people in today’s world. Does it mean we can never judge or does it mean something else? Join us Sunday as we explore the second of our five messages on LGBTQ people and the Church.
