THE BIGGEST WEEK – “A Fig Tree Future” – Mark 11:20-33
We unravel the meaning of the withered fig tree. On their way into Jerusalem on Tuesday morning, Jesus and His disciples pass by the fig tree that Jesus cursed the day before. Peter notices that the tree is now dead and withered to its roots. This is not only a prediction of what is to happen to the Temple and its empty religion but it’s a picture of what will happen to every person without the resurrection power of Christ in our lives. Ours is a fig tree future without Jesus. But with Jesus even what is dead can come alive again and bear fruit!!!
