Next week Sunday, July 28, we will be commissioning our Guatemala Team whom leave that morning. We will also receive a special offering that morning to help the families of the two men involved in the recent plane crash. One of the men, Luke Sullivan, lost his life and the other, Bruce Van Fleet, is currently receiving critical care. Below are details from the Paradise Bound website. Luke Sullivan laid down his life on June 27, 2019. Luke and his wife, Ashley, certainly understood the risks, yet were obedient to God’s call to join Paradise Bound Ministries as their Aviation Director. Luke leaves behind his wife Ashley and three daughters with one on the way. Bruce, the second pilot, also suffered critical injuries and continues care at a Texas hospital as 60% of his body suffered 3rd degree burns.

In the first 36 hours after the accident, PBM accrued $58,069.15 in medical fees revolving around Luke and Bruce’s transportation and treatment.  The majority of these charges are on their credit cards, all of which will need to be paid in the next month.  Their desire is to simply cover those expenses and so we give on Sunday, July 28, 2019 with this special offering. 

Some of you have begun giving online through the RebelGive platform.  Others of you may be hesitant to give in this manner because you are used to putting something in the offering plate when it is passed as an act of worship. If you would like to try the online giving, you are welcome to put an empty envelope in the plate.  Just mark on the envelope “RebelGive” indicating you gave online.

OUR FAMILY CAMPING WEEKEND IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER! Fifteen families from Hager Park Church will be spending the weekend of August 2-4 at Pioneer Park in Muskegon. On Saturday we will have a potluck dinner at 6 PM. Please plan on bringing your own meat to grill as well as a dish to share.  Even if you are not camping for the weekend, we would love to have you join us on Saturday for the potluck. The NEW Sharing Box collection is for LOVE, INC and their Back to School Program.  We are collecting backpacks and school supplies, as well as back to school clothing, for 15 kids.  These are kids at Bauer School, where our Kids Hope kids are.  WE HAVE A LOT OF ITEMS TO COLLECT IN A SHORT TIME FRAME!!  Please take as many different tags as you would like to.  Items are due back to church by Sunday, August 4.  (If you have any questions see Julie Van Oordt).
