Exploring Hager Park Church Class Begins Oct 20
If you want a better picture of what Hager Park Church is about, where it came from and where you can help serve, this is the choice for you! Even if you’re not ready to become a member of our community, we encourage you to come to this 5-week class which concludes on Sunday, November 17 and learn more about the Reformed tradition, your own gifts, and what is expected from a member. We will be meeting in the Prayer Room which is next to the coffee area across from the kitchen.
Game Night & Bake Off - Saturday, October 26
GAME NIGHT AND APPETIZER/DESSERT BAKE-OFF – 6:00 to 8:30 PM! Bring your friends and family on Saturday, October 26, for our Hager Park Game Night and Appetizer/Dessert Bake-Off! Come to the kitchen between 5:30-5:45 if you want to participate in our Bake-Off—bring the form on our flyer to enter (we will have extras if needed). There will be a variety of games to learn and play, and possibly even a big group game. Winners for the Appetizer and Dessert Bake-Off will be announced at 8:15.
There will be a nursery! We have Tracey and Lindsey from our WMBS nursery who have been hired to take care of our kiddos. We are still looking for additional helpers, please let Jayne Tibbets (616-550-9602) know if you can help (young people welcome!). Hope to see you all there!
Sharing Box - now through Oct 27
We are collecting items in the Sharing Box through October 27, 2019, for our Kids Hope mentoring ministry at Bauer Elementary School!
- JUICE BAGS
- BOXES OF INDIVIDUALLY WRAPPED SNACK ITEMS (little cookies, crackers, fruit snacks, etc.).
Each week when a Kids Hope mentor meets with their Kids Hope child, the child gets to pick out a drink bag and a snack to enjoy while they are together. Thanks for your help in providing this for the children!
Donations for Single Moms
Deb Lopez is seeking needed items for a friend and her baby (she was formerly at the Family Life Center). She is in need of a highchair, a pack-n-play and clothing size 9-12 months for a girl. If anyone has these items, or anything else that may be of benefit and you are willing to donate them, please contact Deb Lopez at 616-260-8729. You will be a huge blessing to this mom and her baby.
Pine Rest Program
LIFE STRESSES sometimes can be more than we can handle on our own. It’s often difficult to ask for help. Resources through Pine Rest are now available to HPC members and leadership through CAP (Church Assistance Program). Pine Rest commits to services that are delivered from a Christian worldview that is sensitive, inclusive, and without apology. Face to face, phone, and online resources are available. Please see the flyer in your mailbox for more information and the sign in you will need to access the online resources.
