Bartholomew/Nathanael was rarely mentioned in Scripture. However, he was called ‘an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no deceit.’ High praise for an ordinary person. Let that be said of us as we seek to better follow the Rabbi, Jesus. Join us on Sunday as we learn from Nathanael the human, the seeker, the true Israelite.”
“Philip is your classic ‘Process Person'”, says John MacArthur. Philip needed all the details for every situation. He was a planner and wanted to have everything figured out in advance. Faith was difficult for Philip and Jesus needed to teach him that “full” faith in Jesus is required for greatness.

We know a lot about the Apostle John, mostly from his own writings. Aside from Paul and Luke, John wrote more of the New Testament than anyone else (guided of course by the Holy Spirit). John wrote his gospel, I. II. III John, and the book of Revelation. From his writings many gave him the nickname, “The Apostle of Love” because he spoke more of the importance of Love than any other New Testament writer. However, it wasn’t always that way. He and his brother were first called “Son’s of Thunder” by Jesus for good reason. Join us this Sunday as we explore how Jesus formed and transformed John from a “Son of Thunder” to “The Apostle of Love” How Jesus shaped John for Greatness.

We all have different passions, but at the top of all of our lists should be Jesus. James, the Son of Zebedee, a Son of Thunder, is a disciple filled with passion for the Lord. Passion can be a great thing when it is rightly focused and dangerous when it is not. Jesus shaped James into a man who was able to shape his passion and focus his mission.

Jesus’ disciples came from various backgrounds and temperaments. Andrew was a behind the scenes worker who is known for his ability to welcome people to Jesus. This morning we look at Andrew’s quiet confidence in his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Are Leaders Born or Made? This is the age-old question. Great Leaders are born with some of the right raw material but unless it is shaped by the master that leadership potential may never be developed. However, we all lead something even if it’s simply ourselves, and we all need Jesus to shape us for greatness to lead in whatever arena He has placed us. Peter was shaped for greatness by Jesus and we are too.

We have a high calling as Christians – to look out for the well-being of our brothers and sisters, spur one another on to love and good deeds. We are the light of the world even when we don’t feel that we can be. Christ strengthens us and equips us for the good work of doing His will!
